EndNote 20 (Desktop/Client Versions)

EndNote enables you to move seamlessly through your research process with flexible tools, organizing and sharing your research, creating your bibliography and writing your paper.

Upon Opening the Client

First-time users can open EndNote by clicking Start  > Programs > EndNote. Upon opening, users will have a choice to make regarding starting a new library or importing/opening an existing library. For a first time user, select New Library. Once created, citations can be imported in three principle means, as explained in the Add References tab to the left.

Once an EndNote Library is created, it is generally a good idea to make a copy of the library so data can be retrieved if errors are encountered. This can be done through the Save a Copy, Exporting, and Creating a Compressed Library functions. Syncing your library with the EndNote Web version is also an option.
