New Faculty Orientation (NFO)
Starting with an intensive week in August, NFO introduces new faculty to Marian’s culture and resources. It continues throughout the academic year with Thursday sessions to support ongoing connection and development.
Tools for Teaching
Held at the start of each fall semester, this event welcomes faculty back to campus and offers timely strategies, resources, and inspiration to help them thrive in the year ahead.
Celebration of Teaching
Every other spring, toward the semester’s end, this event brings the community together to honor and reflect on excellence in teaching across Marian University.
Master Class Series: Teaching with Canvas
This multi-session series takes faculty deeper into course design and instructional practice. A three-part sequence where faculty first design a course using research-based methods, then develop course modules, and finally build a facilitation plan — all grounded in pedagogical alignment, student engagement, and learning manageability.
Thank-An-Educator
Each spring, CTL hosts this initiative to give students and colleagues an opportunity to thank faculty. Messages of appreciation are collected and shared, celebrating the impact of teaching excellence.
