Articles, features, interviews, obituaries, columns, book reviews, and still image, audio, video, and data, text and multimedia published on the site since launch in 1996, with the exception of crosswords and some syndicated materials. The site also includes a growing amount of text content published in the print edition of The New York Times between its founding in 1851 and the present day. The Times claims that all articles published from 1981 onwards are available on the site. Coverage of pre‐1981 material is more sporadic, but growing.

Restrictions

  • Crosswords are not included in this subscription.

  • Users can share a video, link to a video, or attach a video to a blog but cannot download a video to a computer.

  • There is a 5 articles per month limitation for each user on content from 1923‐1986 only. 

NYTimes Registration & Access

  1. Visit accessnyt.com and watch this video for instructions.
  2. Search for and select Marian University - Indianapolis, IN.
  3. At the page with the pink box, click the first link labeled "here" if on-campus. If off-campus, click the blue "Go" button at the bottom.
  4. Click on CREATE ACCOUNT and create an NYTimes.com account using your school
    email address. Or log in to your existing NYTimes.com account.
  5. You’re done! After your pass has been activated, you can enjoy access to
    NYTimes.com from any network or location
  6. Access expires after 364 days at which point you will need to revalidate you account. You will need to be on the campus network in order to do this. 
  7. To view the expiration date of your pass, revisit the link.

NYT App Access

You must be on the Marian network to get started Go to:

NYTimes.com Pass

from a smartphone, iPad, tablet or desktop's web-browser and complete the instructions for a new account or to link an existing non-paying NYTimes.com account that has your .edu email as the username.

Select NYT tablet apps are now available to all who claim a new pass or renew a pass to the NYTimes.com Academic Site License. 

Then, visit NYTimes.com/mobile on your tablet or mobile device to download your free NYT apps. Full access to the NYT tablet news app has more than 25 sections of content including blogs, video and slide shows. Use same credentials to log in.
