Welcome to this introductory guide covering the basic concepts of digitization and digital imaging.  Above are tabs dividing the guide into different areas associated with the process of digitization. 

The word 'digital' is used quite frequently and can refer to several different concepts. The process of digitization refers to taking an object, image, or document and creating an electronic version of it, in various formats. The terminology associated with these formats are described within this guide, as well as various resources used in the digitization process.
