Login credentials are issued 2 weeks prior to a start date. You should receive a tech sheet from your chair or dean with your Marian credentials and other technology information. Reach out to your chair or dean if you have not yet received your tech sheet.
Meet with your chair or dean for curriculum planning.
Download the CampusShield app so you will receive important campus alerts, such as school closings or delays.
If you are new to Canvas, it’s highly recommended you receive Canvas training for beginners. Email Blake Ide at bide@marian.edu to schedule one-on-one time to learn Canvas.
Complete Online FERPA Training (access via Canvas NFO Course) before classes start.
Complete Online Title IX Training (access via Canvas NFO Course) before classes start.
Complete the Discrimination and Harassment Prevention Training (access via UKG HR system) before classes start.
Self-Enroll into these important Canvas courses that are specifically for Marian University full-time faculty: Faculty Assembly and Faculty Canvas Design Resources
Obtain your ID and Parking decal from campus police (in the Norman Center by Subway).
Discussing the courses you will be teaching with your chair or dean, including textbook and syllabi information.
Receiving your office key from your chair or dean.
Receiving business cards and name tags from your chair or dean.
Establishing your syllabus, office hours, grading expectations, and final exam expectations.
Learning how to review rosters, enter grades, access the SPARK system, and learn the room locations of where you will be teaching.
Working with student athletes’ schedules.
Managing accommodation requests from students through the Personalized Learning Center.
