  • Pew Research  
    Nonpartisan organization that conducts public opinion polling, demographic research, content analysis and other data-driven social science research. 
  • Eurostat  
    The Statistical Office of the European Communities: contains economic, demographic, public finance and trade data for EU member countries. The data sets are typically for a short time period (since the early 1990’s) and are organized by country. 
  • Eurobarometer 
    Public Opinion Analysis sector of the European Commission.  
  • GapMinder
    Gapminder is an independent Swedish foundation with no political, religious or economic affiliations. Gapminder produces free teaching resources making the world understandable based on reliable statistics. Gapminder promotes a fact-based worldview everyone can understand.  Gapminder collaborates with universities, UN, public agencies and non-governmental organizations.
  • GISCO 
    This service provides access to and exchange of geographic information; also they manage the graphic reference database and provide statistic maps   
  • Environmental Data Centres 
    These 10 data centres (currently in process of being established) will provide environmental data on a diversity of issues, such as: waste, air, climate change, water, biodiversity, land use, soil, and forestry. 
  • European Social Survey
    Academically driven cross-national survey that has been conducted across Europe since 2001. Survey data updated every two years. 
  • European Union - Statistics and Facts
    Find statistics, consumer survey results and industry studies from over 22500 sources on over 60000 topics on the internet's leading statistics database. Marian does not have a paid subscription but some data is freely available with a free account.

  • United Nations Statistics Page
    UNdata was launched as part of a project in 2005, called "Statistics as a Public Good", whose objectives was to provide free access to global statistics. UNdata is maintained by the Development Data Section of the Development Data and Outreach Branch within the Statistics Division of the Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA) of the UN Secretariat.
