Tanisha Neely is the Coordinator of Graduate Academic Success in the Marian University Academic Commons and leads a dedicated team of Writing Consultants.
Her academic journey is marked by a BA in Liberal Arts, with a focus on Humanities and Science from Indiana University-Indianapolis, as well as a certificate in Histotechnology from the IU School of Medicine. Tanisha's passion for the written word led her to pursue a Graduate Certificate in Teaching Writing and a Masters of English from Indiana University-Indianapolis.
During her time at IU, she found her calling as a Writing Consultant in the University Writing Center, where she collaborated with undergraduate and graduate students across various disciplines. This experience was truly invaluable, laying the foundation for her approach to teaching in the classroom and supporting writers one on one. In addition to her role in the Academic Commons, Tanisha teaches first-year and professional writing courses. She also holds the position of Senior Associate Faculty of English at Indiana University-Indianapolis.
In her previous career as a medical technician specializing in clinical research, Tanisha played a crucial role in global operations. She authored and edited hundreds of standard operating procedures, policies, manuals, and continuing education courses. Her extensive experiences as an academic and professional writer inform her collaborative approach to helping Marian students and faculty in their writing processes, which she has happily done since 2017.
