JP Hyde is a dedicated writer and educator who holds an MFA in Creative Writing from Eastern Kentucky University's prestigious Bluegrass Writers Studio. During his time there, he also served as the Fiction Editor for Jelly Bucket, showcasing his commitment to the craft of storytelling.
Before joining Marian University and other esteemed institutions in Indianapolis, JP made a significant impact as an English Language Learner (ELL) Instructional Assistant in the public education sector, focusing on students from kindergarten to sixth grade. In this role, he collaborated with teachers and parents to provide tailored support, fostering improved literacy and fluency through one-on-one guidance and supplemental lessons for student groups.
JP brings a wealth of expertise to his role at Marian University, where he teaches undergraduate composition courses emphasizing peer review processes, workshops, individual conferences, critical thinking, and research strategies. His passion extends to mentoring graduate students, offering invaluable feedback and guidance at every stage of the writing process through Marian University's Academic Commons.
