Submit a Thesis / Dissertation to Proquest

Publishing Options

Traditional Publishing

Proquest ETD offers two types of publishing options, the first being Traditional Publishing.  This option allows for the author to submit their graduate work for inclusion within the Proquest Dissertations & Theses database, available to those institutions that subscribe. Indexing extends to Google Scholar as well, though full text access is restricted.  This option is free of charge.

Open Access Service

The second option is to submit a work using Proquest's Open Access service which expands coverage beyond indexing and makes the work freely available online.  This service has a charge of $95.00 USD.  Currently, it is the responsibility of the author to pay for this option if desired. Marian University currently does not offer stipends for using this service.

For those wishing open access, authors may include their work in MUShare, an institutional repository, free of charge.  An option indicating access in MUShare is included in this submission process.

It is advised that the author think carefully about choosing which option to select before proceeding.  The author will be required to electronically accept the chosen publishing option agreement.
