New Faculty Onboarding Welcome

This succinct, 2-hour onboarding welcome is structured to welcome new, full-time faculty starting at off-peak times to ensure they have the information they need to feel confident and successful.

Our Commitment to You

We are so glad you’re here and feel honored to welcome you to the Marian University community! As a new member of our faculty, you bring fresh perspective, experience, and enthusiasm - and we are deeply grateful that you’ve chosen to begin this journey with us.

Your success matters to us. We are committed to supporting your transition with a robust onboarding experience designed to ensure you have the information, connections, and confidence you need to thrive - both in your first weeks and in the years ahead.

About the Onboarding Welcome

This onboarding welcome is specially designed to support faculty who are beginning their roles outside of our traditional start times. Onboarding welcomes are conducted at the start of the summer and spring semesters. We understand that starting at a different time of year can come with unique challenges - and we’re here to help you navigate those with ease. By the end of the welcome, you’ll have:

  • Essential information and resources to support your teaching and integration into the university
  • Introductions to key offices and individuals who are here to support you
  • Connections with fellow faculty and staff to help you build your campus network

A printed packet of resources is included to support your next steps, and key presenters have been invited to share insights relevant to your role at Marian.

If your start date is in July or August or after an onboarding welcome has already been conducted, you will simply be invited to the overall New Faculty Orientation held two weeks before the start of our undergraduate semester. All faculty will attend the August New Faculty Orientation, regardless of their start date and even if they already attended a short onboarding welcome.
