ACADEMIC SUCCESS COACH SERVICES and INTERNATIONAL STUDENT SUPPORT

The International Students Coordinator is a member of the Center for Academic Success and Engagement (CASE) team and works collaboratively to provide academic success coaching and support to Marian University’s Ancilla College international students. Academic Success Coaches assist with achieving the CASE goal of increasing first-year student retention, increasing grade point average for provisionally admitted students, and decreasing in number the first-year students on probation during the second semester. The Academic Success Coaches work collaboratively with many university offices and individuals, including Faculty Advisors, The Exchange, Residential and Commuter Life, Personalized Learning Center, Counseling and Consultation Services, Athletics, Student Health Services, and Admissions.

The Academic Success Coach also assists with management of SPARC (Success Planning and Retaining Chargers) alerts.

Based on student needs, success coaches will help students explore topics like:

  • Study strategies
  • Learning preferences
  • Time management
  • Goal setting
  • Academic and student support resources
  • Campus engagement
