Getting Started with Microsoft Teams

Microsoft Teams is a collaboration app that brings conversations, files, and tools into one central workspace.

  • Teams and Channels

    • Teams are digital workspaces for your departments or projects.

    • Channels are the topics within a team where you have conversations, hold meetings, and share files.

  • Core Collaboration Tools

    • File Sharing: All files shared in a channel are automatically stored in the "Files" tab for easy access. You can co-edit documents in real-time.

    • Instant Meetings: Start a video meeting with everyone in a channel at any time.

    • Tabs: Pin your favorite apps, files, and services as tabs at the top of a channel for quick access.

  • Chat and Calls

    • Engage in private one-on-one or group chats.

    • Initiate video or audio calls directly from a chat.

  • Organization and Notifications

    • Calendar: Syncs with your Outlook calendar to manage all your meetings and appointments.

    • Activity Feed: A single view to catch up on all your unread messages, @mentions, and replies.

    • Command Box: Use the search bar at the top to quickly find people, files, or apps.
